During the Qingming Festival period, the forest and grassland fire risk level was relatively high in the western and northern parts of Hebei Province, making the control of outdoor fire sources more difficult. In the face of this severe situation, the Provincial Chief Forest Chief issued the Order on Strengthening Forest and Grassland Disaster Prevention and Control Work, consolidating responsibilities at all levels and promoting the implementation of prevention and control measures from a high level. Across the province, more than 7,700 township-level professional teams, 170,000 village-level semi-professional teams, and over 100,000 forest rangers were all on duty and stationed at their posts. They carried out strict inspections and firmly prevented human-caused fire sources from entering mountains and forests. Focusing on key areas such as forest zones around Beijing, Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm, the “Millennium Forest” in Xiong’an New Area, state-owned forest areas, and nature reserves, the province carried out in-depth “six-clearance” actions for combustible materials, as well as fire risk and hidden-danger inspections and rectification. During the holiday period, one forest fire incident occurred in the province, down 83.3% from the same period last year, when six incidents occurred. No major or above forest fires or casualties occurred, effectively maintaining the safety and stability of forest and grassland areas.
