To thoroughly implement the newly revised Regulations on Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention and Suppression and the requirements of higher authorities for forest and grassland fire prevention and suppression work, on January 6, the Office of Zanhuang County Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief Committee organized a forest and grassland fire emergency response drill at Jiunü Peak Scenic Area in Zhangshiyan Town. Zhangshiyan Scenic Area attached great importance to the drill, responded actively, and fully cooperated throughout the process to complete all drill tasks.
With “practical combat training” as its core focus, the drill accurately simulated a sudden fire on the eastern slope of the viewing platform in Jiunü Peak Scenic Area. As the provider of the drill site and an important supporting unit, Zhangshiyan Scenic Area reviewed the vegetation conditions of the area in advance. The area is mainly covered with vitex, oak, and native arbor trees, with dense and flammable vegetation. In addition, the scenic area features steep mountains and complex terrain, where fire can spread rapidly and firefighting is highly difficult, placing strict requirements on the professionalism and coordination of the drill. To comprehensively test the full emergency response process, the drill carefully set up three core subjects: water-based firefighting, wind-powered fire extinguisher operation, and drone material lifting. These subjects covered key links in fire response and comprehensively strengthened the teams’ practical combat capabilities.
After the drill order was issued, professional and semi-professional forest and grassland firefighting teams responded quickly, assembled immediately, and rushed to the fire site according to the preset plan. In the water-based firefighting subject, team members skillfully operated fire pumps, accurately laid water supply lines, and directed water jets precisely at the “fire point,” efficiently suppressing the initial fire. During the wind-powered fire extinguisher operation, team members worked in close coordination, using wind-powered extinguishers to form a “firefighting formation,” quickly clearing flammable materials around the fireground and blocking the spread of the fire. The drone material lifting subject fully demonstrated the advantages of technology-enabled fire prevention and suppression, as the drone accurately located the target area and steadily delivered rescue supplies to the designated location, providing efficient logistical support for frontline response.
The entire drill was tense yet orderly, with clear division of responsibilities. All participating teams responded rapidly and operated in a standardized manner, while relevant departments worked closely together with seamless coordination, successfully completing all preset response tasks. The drill not only effectively tested the scientific soundness and operability of the emergency plan, but also strengthened the rapid response, scientific decision-making, and coordinated combat capabilities of professional and semi-professional firefighting teams, laying a solid foundation for efficient fire control in the event of a fire.
Next, Zhangshiyan Scenic Area will take this drill as an opportunity to summarize cooperation experience, identify shortcomings, continuously strengthen the development of emergency rescue teams, actively cooperate with higher authorities in carrying out regular practical drills, and further improve the comprehensive response and coordination capabilities for forest and grassland fire prevention and suppression in the scenic area, thereby firmly safeguarding ecological security and tourism safety.
