Recently, a research team from Hebei Academy of Sciences visited Zhangshiyan National Geopark for an in-depth field investigation and exchange activity. This visit aimed to make full use of the professional expertise of Hebei Academy of Sciences to gain a comprehensive understanding of the geological resources of Zhangshiyan Geopark, further advance our park’s application for UNESCO Global Geopark status, and promote the sustainable development of local communities.
During the field investigation, experts from Hebei Academy of Sciences carefully visited and inspected several geological sites in the park. They highly praised the unique geological structures and rich natural resources of the scenic area, noting that the park not only has extremely high geological research value, but also great potential for tourism development. The experts pointed out that creating a UNESCO Global Geopark is of great significance for protecting the natural wonders of Zhangshiyan, enhancing the visibility of Zhangshiyan Scenic Area, and driving local economic development.
The park management authority and the team from Hebei Academy of Sciences held several symposiums during the visit. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the construction planning, management strategies, and ways to enhance the attractiveness of the scenic area. Hebei Academy of Sciences stated that it will fully support our scenic area’s application for UNESCO Global Geopark status and provide professional scientific research support and technical guidance, jointly promoting the construction and development of Jiunv Peak Geopark.
This field investigation not only deepened cooperation and exchanges between Hebei Academy of Sciences and our park management authority, but also injected new momentum into the park’s future development. We firmly believe that through the creation of a UNESCO Global Geopark, the park will embrace broader development prospects and become an important platform for showcasing the beauty of nature and the wonders of geology. At the same time, it will bring more employment opportunities and economic benefits to local residents. As the park management authority, we will continue to strengthen cooperation with Hebei Academy of Sciences and other scientific research institutions, continuously improve the management level and scientific research capacity of the geopark, and make greater contributions to green development and community prosperity.
