On the morning of May 9, He Zhiqiang, Party Secretary of Hebei GEO University, led a delegation to Zanhuang for an inspection visit and signed a university-local cooperation agreement with the county. Chen Hongfeng, Secretary of the Zanhuang County Party Committee, and Lu Zhanjun, Deputy Secretary of the Zanhuang County Party Committee and County Mayor, attended the event.
He Zhiqiang and his delegation visited Zhangshiyan Art Creation Center, Jiunv Peak Scenic Area, Yan Art Museum, and other sites. They gained a detailed understanding of Zanhuang County’s development in geological resources, ecological cultural tourism, art-based study programs, and rural revitalization, and highly praised Zhangshiyan’s unique geography and landforms as well as its achievements in integrated cultural tourism development.
At the symposium, Lu Zhanjun signed the university-local cooperation agreement with Zhao Qiang, Vice President of Hebei GEO University, on behalf of the county government.
On behalf of the Zanhuang County Party Committee and County Government, Chen Hongfeng welcomed the delegation from Hebei GEO University. He pointed out that Zanhuang has sound ecological resource advantages, a well-developed industrial layout, and long-term development planning. The signing of this agreement will provide strong support for Zanhuang’s application for UNESCO Global Geopark status, the improvement of geological research capacity, and the upgrading of its cultural tourism industry. He expressed the hope that both sides would take the agreement as a bond, establish a long-term cooperation mechanism, focus on key tasks, and deepen cooperation in academic research, UNESCO Global Geopark application, geological technical services, exchange of cadres and talents, study-tour linkage, internships and practical training, and other fields. Together, they will build a model of industry–university–research–application integration and provide strong technical and intellectual support for Zanhuang’s high-quality development.
He Zhiqiang introduced the university’s educational characteristics, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in serving local development. He said that the university will give full play to its professional advantages in geology, resources, environment, planning, art, and other fields, focus on Zanhuang’s development needs, and provide full-process technical and intellectual support for the application of Zhangshiyan UNESCO Global Geopark. The university will jointly build academic research and teaching practice bases, carry out collaborative research on geological evolution, geological relic protection, ecological cultural tourism development, and other topics, establish mechanisms for temporary cadre posts and talent training, promote resource sharing, complementary advantages, and in-depth cooperation, transform its strengths in science, education, and talent into development momentum, inject strong impetus into Zanhuang County’s high-quality economic and social development, and contribute university-local strength to building a strong economic province and a beautiful Hebei.
