June 17 this year marks the 32nd World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, with the theme “United for Land: Our Legacy, Our Future.” The County Forestry Bureau and Zhangshiyan National Geopark Management and Protection Center jointly carried out various publicity activities.
Publicity Activity Site
During the activity, a publicity site was set up at Zanhuang County Children’s Park, and the County Forestry Bureau and the Management and Protection Center jointly formed a volunteer service team. Volunteers created a strong publicity atmosphere by hanging banners and distributing promotional materials. They explained knowledge about land desertification, drought hazards, invasive species prevention and control, ecological and environmental protection, and other related topics to the public.

This publicity activity closely combined the global issue of desertification control with Zhangshiyan’s local ecological protection practices. While appreciating the magnificent landscape of “miles of red cliffs and towering crimson ridges,” the public gained a deeper understanding that preventing land degradation and protecting lucid waters and lush mountains require participation from everyone and continued efforts from generation to generation.
